Work Experience Placements

We feel it is important to give individuals the time and energy required to help them decide if they have chosen the right career path. As a result Work Experience Placements are limited and are dependant on the time of year, previous experience and interest in the chosen department.

INSTRUCTORS

PLEASE NOTE: 

Short term placements (3 weeks maximum)

Dates 2012:  We currently have availability from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd March
and 1, 2 or 3 week placements from 30th April 2012 onwards.

Accommodation:  Due to a high number of residential staff we will only be able to offer accommodation on a camping basis and at certain times of the year.

Long term placements

Due to our level of staffing and lack of accommodation we are unable to offer any long term industrial placements in 2012.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Opportunities are available for industrial placements, but due to the high volume of demand there are three criteria that must be fulfilled to qualify for a placement application.

•  All applicants must be engaged, or about to become engaged, in a course of academic study directly related to the outdoor industry.

•  All applicants must be over 18 at the time of the placement.

•  If you require a placement for longer than 1 week you will need to visit Skern Lodge for an informal chat.
