Focus on the Geography

Focus on the Geography introduces photography within the Geography Curriculum at Key Stage 2 and 3, encouraging pupils to analyse information both spatially and visually, as well as engaging with, and discovering some key concepts in Geography.

Saltmarsh Protected

Part of Bideford Saltmarsh known as Kynoch Foreshore is now a designated Local Nature Reserve. It is one of the most significant salt marshes for wildlife in the Taw Torridge Estuary, and is regularly studied by Skern Lodge students. Whilst it lies outside the SSSi boundary, designation as an LNR should afford it some protection for the future.

JOHN MUIR AWARD AT SKERN LODGE

Skern Lodge is now pleased to be able to provide John Muir Award for 2012, the award is at the Discovery Level and is available and adaptable to a variety of different groups. We will be adding a John Muir section to our website but in the meantime please call or e-mail us for further details.

The GA annual Conference 2012

This year Skern Lodge will be attending the annual Geographical Association conference at the University of Manchester.This was a great event for us last year and we are looking forward to it immensely. If you are around and about, find our staff at the exhibition and have a chat to us.
