SURFING

Westward Ho! beach is perfect for learning to surf. A wide open beach with plenty of space, and miles of sand which slopes gently into the sea, so you can surf within your depth and catch your first waves. You'll learn the basics, experience the thrill of riding waves and get tips all the time on how next to improve.

KAYAKING

Learn to kayak and improve your skills with the best kayaking coaches in a superb location.  We have a heated pool on site, the Torridge estuary for skills practise and trips, kayak surfing at Westward Ho! beach, and the great North Devon coastline to explore.

Skern Lodge is a British Canoe Union Approved Centre. This applies to the quality of instruction, equipment and safety. All equipment is provided but you are welcome to bring your own.

Applicants for courses must be able to swim 50 metres.
