How to become an Outdoor Instructor
We are frequently asked for information on how to become an instructor within the outdoor industry. The following information gives some advice and useful links to help answer some of your questions.
Employment opportunities within the industry are limited. If you are serious about becoming an outdor instructor you will require the basic qualifications of Lifesaving and First Aid. The best jobs can be found once you have gained some technical qualifications.
Here at Skern Lodge we offer a 16 week Accelerated Instructor Training Programme. If you are interested in finding out more about this course please visit the website www.outdoorinstructorcourse.co.uk
Alternatively many colleges run NVQ, GNVQ and HND Adventurous Activity Programmes, they will be able to give you guidance and advice concerning possible entry routes and course content. If you were to undertake one of these courses it would allow you to secure all the technical competence and qualifications required.
