Typical Day

Hydrology Fieldwork Aim – To investigate changes in river channel characteristics from source to sea
9.00am Introduction to study area and set hypotheses
9.30am Depart for Exmoor (Arrive approx 10.30am)
Risk assess fieldwork, set up and carry out sampling strategy and collecting data at 3 sites.
12.00pm Lunch
12.30pm Collect data at sites 4 and 5.
Discuss rejuvenation of river long profile
2.00pm Visit Lynmouth
Discuss flood events and compare and contrast to Boscastle flood.
3.00pm Return to Skern Lodge Field Studies Centre
5.00pm River cross-sections and calculations
6pm Dinner
7pm Further data analysis including Spearmans Rank test.
